Because of special flexibilities from USDA, DJUSD is able to serve meals to any student ages 18 and under free of charge through December 31. However, the National Student Lunch Program with the Free and Reduced Meal application process will remain a critical component to ensure students are provided with healthy and nutritious meals throughout the year and our schools receive future funding.

Applying for the Free and Reduced-Price Meals Program provides important funding that benefits DJUSD students. One new application per family is required at the beginning of each school year. Families may apply for Free and Reduced-Price Meals in one of the following three ways:

  • The application is available online on the MySchoolApps website.
  • You may download and complete a hard copy of the application (in English or Spanish) and turn it in to your school office or the District Office (526 B Street). Offices are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 .am. - 12:00 p.m.
  • Attend one of our in-person meal application support events on Thursday, September 10. We will be outside, practicing social distancing and offering support in Spanish and English. For more details on these events, please visit our Student Nutrition Services website.
