DAVIS, CA — An investigation into a hazardous material leak in downtown Davis has prompted evacuations and the closure of a street. The scene of the hazmat incident is University Lodge, which is located at Second and B streets. Davis police and fire personnel are on scene and B Street is completely blocked between 1st and 2nd. "The majority of the block has been evacuated," Davis police said in an alert sent at 2:23 p.m. Tuesday. "At this time there is no reason to fear any damage to the surrounding area," police said.
