Drive-Thru COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Offered This Weekend
YCOE and First 5 Yolo Offering Pediatric Vaccines and Booster Doses in Woodland

Woodland, CA - The Yolo County Office of Education, in collaboration with First 5 Yolo and Yolo County, is offering a COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Saturday, November 13, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at their main administrative building, located at 1280 Santa Anita Court in Woodland.
The free clinic plans to distribute 400 Pfizer doses to children ages five to 11. In addition to pediatric vaccines, the clinic will also have first dose, second dose, and booster shots available.
The clinic is the first drive-thru vaccine clinic hosted in Yolo County. Every child that is vaccinated will receive a 15-inch teddy bear, courtesy of a donation from the Build-A-Bear Foundation and Baby2Baby.

“We are aiming to create a fun environment for children getting their vaccine,” said Public Information Officer Anthony Volkar. “The entrance will have balloon decorations and every child vaccinated will receive a stuffed animal and books.”
The clinic will accept walk-ins and appointments. Individuals can sign up for appointments for pediatric vaccines and booster doses through the state’s MyTurn system at myturn.ca.gov.

On MyTurn, the clinic is labeled “YCOE MPOD, 11/13”. As of Thursday, the vaccine clinic had available appointments every five minutes starting at 10:20 a.m.
The vaccine is provided at no cost. The Pfizer vaccine is a two-dose vaccine and individuals receiving a first dose will need to return on December 4 to the same location for their second dose.
For minors ages five to 11, parents and guardians will need to complete a consent form before being vaccinated. If a child plans to attend the clinic without their parent or guardian present, a completed consent form is required. The consent form in both English and Spanish can be downloaded in advance at yolocounty.org/getvaccinated.
In addition, First 5 Yolo will be on hand to distribute supplies to childcare providers, including diapers, wipes, and children-sized face masks.
“The supplies donated to childcare providers have been essential during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said First 5 Yolo Executive Director Gina Daleiden. “The items simply ensure that child care providers have the materials needed to maintain the health, safety, and comfort of children in their care.”
Additional information on the vaccine clinic is available on the Yolo County Office of Education website at www.ycoe.org.
