As a composer Tony has written anthems, carols, special arrangements and music for the organ. He won the Royal School of Church Music's Harold Smart Competition in 1996 and 1998.
Tony Baldwin was born in London, and his early years were spent as a choirboy at Southwark Cathedral. At the age of 17 he was awarded the Associateship Diploma of the Royal College of Organists, winning the prize for harmony and counterpoint, and the full Fellowship a year later. He studied at the Universities of Oxford and Durham, and afterwards embarked on a career in teaching, organ playing, and leading choirs.
Tony makes regular visits to the United States for recitals, and formed his own chamber choir in California.
