Davis residents of all ages are invited to join Dance Dance Davis, a community dance project organized by Shelly Gilbride, Ph.D., a Theatre and Dance alumna and local arts consultant and dancer.
Gilbride seeks to recruit at least 100 Davisites to celebrate the joy of dancing and the adventurous spirit of Davis, which will culminate with a flashmob-style dance performance at a surprise Davis location on May 9 at 6:15 p.m.
All are invited to contribute dance steps through local “free” dance classes and Facebook. Gilbride will host dance lessons on Wednesday, April 25 at 4 p.m., Wednesday, May 2 at 8:30 p.m., Saturday May 5 at 4 p.m. and Sunday, May 6 at 1 p.m. at the Davis Art Center. UC Davis students may also attend her “free” on-campus class Monday April 30, 6:00-8:00 pm at the University Club Dance Studio.
