Raise a stein and celebrate Oktoberfest Sept. 22 with the Davis Sunrise Rotary Club to benefit the Yolo Crisis Nursery and NAMI-Yolo, the local chapter for the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
The morning Rotary club’s annual fundraiser for community nonprofits will take place 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, in Central Park’s Pavilion. The event features German sausage and other hearty Oktoberfest foods; Pilsner, Hefeweisen and Marsen beer from Sudwerk Brewery; wine and non-alcoholic drinks. Participants will be entertained by the Hassenpfeffers’ live polka music.
This year’s proceeds will support the Yolo Crisis Nursery, a unit of EMQ FamiliesFirst, which provides emergency respite care for children up to 5 years of age when their families are facing crisis or hardship, by providing a safe environment and supervision for children day or night.
