ITDP: Institute for Theatre, Dance and Performance presents Lost and Aground: The Woe of The Wavefarer, a new puppetry work created by Rebecca O’Brien, Monica Ammerman, Anna Kritikos, Dan Wilson and Minkyung Kim.
In a world where old, used and forgotten objects once again find life and purpose, a little old puppet who just wants to remain stuck in his ways is bombarded and bewildered by new friends and foes in this aquatic tale. Elements of surprise and visual trickery follow the puppet on his journey from sea to shore and back again, illuminating the innocence of mystery and magic.
Lost and Aground: The Woe of The Wavefarer takes from the styles of Bunraku puppetry, object theatre and contemporary clowning. It is a work-in-progress performance devised by a an undergraduate student/faculty collaborative that explores and experiments, playing with ideas and taking risks without fear of failure.
