Flooding Of Cache Creek Forecast In Yolo County: NWS

YOLO COUNTY, CA — Cache Creek at Yolo in Yolo County is forecast to reach flood danger stage by Wednesday, officials with the National Weather Service Sacramento Office said Tuesday.
"Water will begin to flow out of the bank if it reaches flood stage," NWS Sacramento said on Twitter. "Flood prone and low-lying areas north of Woodland will be impacted."
In a flood warning issued at 3:46 p.m. Tuesday, NWS officials said due to recent heavy rain and saturated rivers and streams, Cache Creek at the Rumsey Bridge in Yolo is expected to exceed "danger stage" Wednesday with stages higher than the mid-February flows.

"All those affected by river conditions should remain alert for rapid changes and for possible forecast revisions," NWS Sacramento said.
As of 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, Cache Creek at the Rumsey Bridge was at 9 feet, with potential for minor flooding should the creek rise above flood stage of 14 feet as forecast late Tuesday night, according to NWS.

Should the flooding occur, water would flow into low-lying orchards and farm land around the creek, weather officials said.
