Hospice Administrator to Lead Carlton Plaza of Elk Grove Support Group

Matthew Crooks, administrator of Sojourn Hospice, will lead the monthly Alzheimer’s and dementia support group at Carlton Plaza of Elk Grove on Sunday, March 29 at 2 p.m.

Crooks will discuss hospice and end-stage dementia. As administrator of Sojourn Hospice, which is a state licensed and joint commission accredited hospice and palliative care organization – Crooks has extensive experience with hospice care and end-stage dementia.

“The end stages are often some of the most trying times for families, caregivers and, of course, the person facing the challenge of dementia,” said Lindsey Flores, executive director of Carlton Plaza of Elk Grove. “It is very comforting for seniors with dementia and their families to discuss these issues in the event they have to face them.”

The monthly support group at Carlton Plaza of Elk Grove has been led by a number of professionals in the health and senior care industries. Themes and topics discussed during the support group focus on supporting the caregivers and families of seniors facing the challenges of Alzheimer’s, dementia and other forms of memory loss.
