Meg Stallard Honored as Yolo County Woman of the Year
Senator Dodd Honored Meg Stallard as Yolo County Woman of the Year

Local resident Meg Stallard has been honored as Yolo County Woman of the Year for the Third Senate District. In recognition of Women’s History Month, Senator Bill Dodd honored one woman from each of the counties he represents who have made significant contributions in their respective communities.
"I'm honored to be recognized by Senator Dodd in this way,” said Meg Stallard, 2017 Yolo County Woman of the Year. “I can only say that I have loved being a part of the Woodland and Yolo County community all these years. I have truly enjoyed my association with many other community members in the organizations in which I have served."
Meg has dedicated much of her career serving the children of Yolo County. Meg recently retired from the Yolo County Board of Education, capping a fifteen year career in public service where she also served on the Woodland Joint Unified School Board and the California School Boards Association. She also has a passion for the arts and literature, exemplified by her leadership on the boards of the Woodland Opera House, Woodland Library, and Woodland Shakespeare Club.

“Yolo County is incredibly lucky to have someone as passionate about their community as Meg Stallard,” said Senator Bill Dodd. “From her work on local school boards to the many organizations she’s presided over, no one can question Meg’s commitment to improving the lives of her fellow citizens.”
Over the years, Meg has served her community in many different capacities. She has served as Chair or President of over a dozen nonprofit and governmental organizations, including the Cal Aggie Alumni Association, UC Davis Foundation, Yolo Basin Foundation, and the Woodland League of Women Voters. She continues to stay heavily involved in the community and currently serves as Chair of the Yolo Community Foundation and serves on the board of the Sacramento Region Community Foundation.
