A NIGHT IN AT CARLTON SENIOR LIVING IN DAVIS WITH TURKOVICH FAMILY WINES

Carlton Senior Living of Davis is hosting a wine and cheese pairing event featuring the wines and cheese from Turkovich Family Wines in Winters on Thursday, September 24, at 3:30 p.m. The event is free, but RSVPs are required and can be made by calling (530) 564-7002.

“We have a lot of different events at Carlton Senior Living of Davis, but this one is particularly exciting,” said Jennifer Davidson, retirement counselor at Carlton Senior Living. “We get to showcase great wine and cheese that was made nearby, and our residents and guests get to have a great time while we do it.”

The event will feature a number of fine wines from the family’s winery, as well as artisanal cheeses that were chosen to pair perfectly with the wine.

As the name implies, Turkovich Family Wines is a family affair. Parents Tony and Joanie Turkovich are part owners with their son Chris and daughter-in-law Luciana. Chris and Luciana are the chief winemakers; Tony manages the farming operation at the Button & Turkovich Estate Vineyard; and the youngest Turkovich son, Danny, is the winery’s cheesemaker.

The winery, which got its start in 2007, has a total production of 5,000 cases of approximately 25 different wines.
