Sexually Violent Predator Evicted from Motel 6
Liberty Healthcare Corporation is responsible for finding lodging for Fraisure Smith.
Sexually violent predator Fraisure Smith, who was released Monday on transient status to a Motel 6 in Vallejo, was evicted when the motel learned his identity, Vallejo police said Thursday afternoon.
“After obtaining further details from Motel 6, it appears Motel 6 did not know that they had rented a room to Mr. Smith,” Vallejo City Manager Daniel E. Keen said in a statement Thursday.
Smith’s release as a transient meant he must be moved to a different location in Solano County and register there as a sexually violent predator every 30 days, Deputy District Attorney Mary Nguyen said Monday.

The Liberty Healthcare Corporation is responsible for finding lodging for Smith, Nguyen said.
Had a permanent residence for Smith be found, he would have to register as a sexually violent predator every year, Nguyen said.

Liberty Healthcare Corporation concealed Smith’s identity in order to obtain two rooms at the motel, police Capt. John Whitney said.
Two men employed by Liberty Healthcare Corporation gave their names and did not disclose the identity of Smith, who would be staying in the motel rooms, Whitney said.
Smith, 51, was sentenced to prison in 2006 after he pleaded no contest to assault with intent to commit rape. A jury in 2010 agreed with Abrams’ office that Smith was a sexually violent predator, and Smith was committed to Coalinga State Hospital on July 24, 2010.
Smith filed a petition for conditional release and unconditional discharge in April 2012.
Since then a series of court hearings were held to find a permanent residence for Smith in Solano County.
Efforts to house him in Suisun City, Fairfield and Concord failed when property owners balked at housing Smith. Solano County Superior Court Judge Arvid Johnson in October ordered him released as a transient by Nov. 30.
Vallejo police last week announced Smith was going to be released by Nov. 30 in Solano County but did not disclose the location. Vallejo police were not notified of his release because it is considered transient, Lt. Kenny Park said.
“We appreciate the speedy manner in which Motel 6 acted to ensure the safety of its residents and of the city’s residents. We value their assistance in setting the record straight,” Whitney said in the news release.
