Why view this film?

The Wrecking Crew is a documentary about the professional, studio musicians who created the “sound” for hundreds of hits in the 1960s. The musicians highlighted in the film are notably and warmly regarded as the unsung heroes of that time.

In the early to mid-1960’s artists such as The Beach Boys, Jan & Dean, Sonny & Cher, The Byrds, The Righteous Brothers, Nancy Sinatra, and The Fifth Dimension topped the pop charts with songs like Up, Up and Away, Little Old Lady from Pasadena, Cherish, These Boots Are Made for Walking and Good Vibrations.

“The Wrecking Crew documentary is the first time that people will finally understand what it was like to be in the trenches of Rock and Roll. It’s the closest thing to being there, it is a pleasure to be a part of Denny Tedesco’s film,” commented Hal Blaine.

They were the “Wall” in Phil Spector’s ‘Wall of Sound.’ It was known as the West Coast Sound, and the artists who sang these songs were household names. But the musicians who performed those hits were virtually unknown to the listening public and remain so today.

The Wrecking Crew has been reunited in a feature length documentary film that has been viewed worldwide in over 50 film festivals, winning over a dozen awards. It is an intimate, enlightening and often humorous remembrance of real stories and emotions as told from the perspective of those who lived it.

Interviews with the musicians and with the well-known artists, producers and engineers of the day, provide us with a unique insider’s view into a special time and place. But, it is the music itself that becomes the heart and soul of The Wrecking Crew. It is the soundtrack of our lives, yet few people realize how that sound came to be…until now.

Carol Kaye exclaimed, “I highly recommend this film to everyone! It’s terrific, hard-hitting with the right punches and filmed as only experienced fine film-makers, like Denny can capture.”

Be sure to catch the last of the previews (it will be released soon to theaters) of this entertaining, informative, and sometimes raucous, back-scenes film.

There will be 2 showings. You can get your tickets in advance at www.brownpapertickets.com or purchase your tickets at our sponsoring music stores: Gordon’s Music and Sound, Fairfield or Consumer Music, Vallejo, to receive a $5.00 discount off the ticket price. Tickets are available also at the door.

Don’t miss this fun and entertaining event where the director/producer of the movie will be present to answer any questions you may have.
