SPECIAL EVENT: IRISH COMFORT FOOD COOKING DEMO PLANNED FOR ST. PATRICK'S DAY
Learn how to cook delicious Shepherd's Pie on St. Patrick's Day with Andrew Moret, the chef at Carlton Plaza of Davis.

Carlton Plaza of Davis will host a cooking demonstration on St. Patrick’s Day with the community’s chef, Andrew Moret, creating shepherd’s pie.
“Shepherd’s pie is classic Irish comfort food,” said Moret, a Culinary Institute of America trained chef who leads the kitchen at the senior living community in Davis. “Our recipe will be a hearty dish of ground lamb stewed in rich gravy with fresh vegetables and topped with mashed potatoes.”
The cooking demonstration will be Tuesday, March 17, starting at 3 p.m., with happy hour at 4 p.m., followed by the dinner of shepherd’s pie, housemade side dishes and dessert.

In addition to the Culinary Institute of America, Moret attended the Sichuan Higher Institute of Cuisine in China and Ideas in Food in San Francisco.
