Sports Authority to Celebrate Grand Opening of New Sacramento Location

Sports Authority, one of the largest full-line sporting goods retailers in the United States and Puerto Rico, announced today that it will host a grand opening event for its new store in Sacramento, CA at 3350 Arden Way. Doors open Saturday, May 30 at 8am.

This store replaces Sports Authority’s Sacramento location and has everything customers need to get active, including the latest from top brands like Nike, Under Armour, adidas, The North Face and more. With outstanding selection, value and service, Sports Authority is making shopping easier than ever for its customers.

“We are very excited about the grand opening of this store,” said Michael Foss, Chief Executive Officer of Sports Authority. “Sports Authority believes in bringing communities together through the good of sport, and we are committed to providing great value and outstanding service to the families and recreational athletes in the Sacramento area.”

Grand opening weekend events and promotions include:

Saturday only

· Starting at 8am, the first 100 customers in line will receive a $25 Instant Sports Authority Cash Card. The 101st–200th customers in line will receive a $10 cash card.

· Former San Francisco Wide Receiver Dwight Clark will be making an appearance from 1pm–2:30pm.

Saturday and Sunday

· Customers can register for a chance to win a $500 shopping spree.

Sunday only

· The first 200 customers to spend $15 or more will receive a free camp chair.

Customers are also invited to join The League, Sports Authority’s member program, which gives members a point for every dollar spent. Within a quarterly period, members who earn 100 points or more will receive 5% back on all in-store and online purchases.
