Students at Merryhill Preschool in Davis Plant Gardens

Students planted flowers and vegetables throughout the schoolyard to celebrate Earth Day

Students at Merryhill Preschool in Davis recently planted flowers and vegetables in gardens around their schoolyard to celebrate Earth Day. For a week, the students worked together to paint flower boxes, plant flowers and corn, and water the garden. They also decorated rocks, which they added to the garden to create pathways around the outdoor space. Throughout the spring, students will continue to care for the gardens as the plants grow. Leading up to Earth Day, students learned the value of caring for the planet and how to create a garden. Merryhill Preschool teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at a young age.
