Super Rare 1912 Artillery Tractor On Display At Ag Museum

This is one of three models of the Holt 120 Horsepower tractor rumored to have survived from 800 built. A piece of history!

WOODLAND, CA – The Holt 120 Horsepower tractor is on public display in the Heidrick Collection at the California Agriculture Museum. Only 800 of the Holt 120 Horsepower models were built and this is one of three models rumored to have survived.

Built as an artillery tractor in 1917, this particular machine was being shipped to the Western Front when the Armistice was signed and the order was cancelled. The tractor was stored on the dock in France before being returned to the Port of Los Angeles two years later.

The tractor was put to use farming before it was refurbished and donated to the museum. Positioned near the Holt 120, you’ll also see the Holt Military, Holt Midget, Holt 75 Horsepower, an ambulance, military covered wagon and other iron horses that supported the troops.
