The practice of making tea, shared by many cultures across the globe, is an ancient tradition. Central to the preparation of tea leaves is the cup, bowl, or tea pot, in which the tea leaves are held. The exhibit displays fine tea ware crafted by contemporary ceramic artists from California, Japan, Germany, and China, among other places near and far. Practicing ceramicists include Shimo, Marc Lancet, Carol Wedemeyer, Natasha Dikareva, Barbara Sebastian, Lisa Jetonne, Heidi Bekebrede, Sodo Kinoshita, Sabine Turpeinen, Jan Schachter, Fred Yokel, Julia Feld, Melissa Woodbury, and Debbie Moore Yip.
