Updated 1:15 P.M.: Police have recovered the machete. There is no threat at this time. The suspect remains at large.

UC Davis are searching for a man possibly armed with a machete in the area of Segundo Commons and the Activities and Recreation Center. Police are on scene, please avoid the area if possible.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with short hair and a mustache, white t-shirt and blue jeans, riding a black bicycle.

If you see the suspect please call 9-1-1. Do not approach or attempt contact with the suspect.

The suspect was first reported earlier this morning (March 9) in the South Davis neighborhood, prompting Davis police to issue an alert.
