YCOE, County Administer 600 Vaccines at Drive-Thru Clinic

County Sees Strong Demand for Booster Doses at Weekend Vaccine Clinic in Woodland

Woodland, CA – On Saturday (December 4), the Yolo County Office of Education (YCOE) held a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at their main administrative building, located at 1280 Santa Anita Ct. in Woodland. The clinic was held in partnership with Yolo County and First 5 Yolo.

During the clinic, 630 vaccine doses were administered, including 140 pediatric vaccines and 470 booster doses.

“The vaccine clinic was incredibly busy throughout the day. At times, vehicles had to wait 30-40 minutes just to enter the vaccine clinic,” said YCOE public information officer Anthony Volkar. “Much of the increased demand was for booster doses.”

On November 19, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) expanded eligibility for booster shots to include all adults ages 18 and older. Individuals who received a Pfizer or Moderna vaccine at least six months ago or the Johnson and Johnson vaccine at least two months ago are now recommended to receive a booster shot.

To help promote the clinic, the California Department of Public Health provided a food truck for those vaccinated. During the four-hour clinic, the food truck distributed 400 meals to attendees.
