Also appearing at Taste of Yolo is Patrick Mulvaney of Mulvaney’s B&L Restaurant, Sacramento CA. A proud Sacramentan whose cooking career has spanned five time zones, Mulvaney’s travels have taken him from a European apprenticeship through The River Café in Brooklyn, RoxSand in Phoenix to Paragary’s & The Kitchen in Sacramento. In 2001 he began Culinary Specialists, opening Mulvaney’s B&L in 2006 and adding Next Door in 2008.

As the Godfather of Sacramento’s farm-to-fork movement, Mulvaney celebrates local farmers, chefs and culinary communities every day, promoting the bounty of the Sacramento region. In March of 2014 they did just that at the James Beard House in New York City. They prepared a dinner entitled “Savoring Sacramento: A Promise of Spring,” bringing everything except the water, bread and Irish whiskey with them from California.

The third chef at Taste of Yolo is Fred Reyes, Executive Chef of the award-winning Buckhorn Steakhouse in Winters, CA. A Yolo County mainstay for more than three decades, Buckhorn draws people from across the region. In his tenure, Reyes has added a more finished, upscale quality to the Buckhorn menu and bar, emphasizing freshness, particularly with the fish, and offering some lighter sauces and in-season specials, enhancing the menu.

All of the food used by the celebrity chefs will be sourced from Yolo County producers; the sourcing will be overseen by Randii MacNear, the Executive Director of the Davis Farmers Market, which is one of the oldest and most renown farmers markets in the country.

Taste of Yolo will take place on June 10, 2017, from 3-8pm in Central Park in downtown Davis. The park is located between B and C Streets bordered by 3rd and 5th Streets. For tickets, visit www.tasteofyolo.com
