• Community Development Block Grant 2027- 2028 (California) (fundsforngos.org) — San Diego County is accepting Community Development Block Grant applications for projects serving low- and moderate-income residents in unincorporated areas, while reminding organizations that Del Mar runs its own separate CDBG program. If your project is based in or mainly benefits Del Mar residents, you'll need to apply directly through the city's process instead of the county's competitive grant cycle.
   

• Torrey Pines Reserve Closed Until March 2027: Trails and Lots Shut, Beach Stays Open (travelerstoday.com) — Residents who usually hike Torrey Pines via the Del Mar side should know all reserve trails, facilities, and upper parking lots are closed until at least March 2027, though the beach below remains open. State Parks is finishing major utility upgrades, new restrooms, and an accessible path, and suggests alternative coastal hikes while access from Del Mar to the Extension area remains uncertain and should be checked before visiting.
