Del Mar and Carmel Valley can support Make-A-Wish at San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl

Support Make-A-Wish Foundation by attending San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl on Thursday, Dec. 20th

San Diego County Credit Union (SDCCU), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution with two local branches at 12980 Carmel Country Road in Del Mar Highlands and 665 San Rodolfo Dr. in Solana Beach, is inviting Del Mar and Carmel Valley residents to attend the 2012 San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl because $1 of every ticket sold for admission goes directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of San Diego. Kickoff is 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20, at Qualcomm Stadium in Mission Valley.

SDCCU has served as the title sponsor since the bowl game’s inception in 2005. The Poinsettia Bowl is the only game among the 35 college football games to have a credit union as a title sponsor. The partnership between SDCCU, Make-A-Wish and the Poinsettia Bowl has been in effect since the game began, with more than 40 wishes granted to children with life-threatening medical conditions from the game’s contributions.

This year’s eighth annual game will match the Mountain West champion San Diego State University Aztecs (9-3 overall, 7-1 MWC) against longtime rival the Brigham Young University Cougars, which finished the season 7-5.
