Proposition J is on the November ballot for the residents of the city of Del Mar. Proposition J would reduce Camino del Mar (Old Highway 101) to one lane in each direction, add wider sidewalks and roundabouts at 9th, 11th and 13th Streets. The FAR (floor area ratio) would increase from 45% to 100% for the downtown which will allow the addition of 220,000 sq ft of space - the equivalent of three Del Mar plazas. The height on the west side of Camino del Mar can be increased from one story to 26 ft.
Within the 220,000 sq. ft of space is the provision for 110 residential units - the equivalent of 1 1/2 Beach Colony Apartments (at the north end of the city)
This all a major change for Del Mar and I am asking people to Vote NO on Prop J.
