In a Jan. 27 notice, North County Transit District announced that Sheriff’s deputies will educate trespassers and —as needed — issue citations that can be punishable by fines of up to $500 and up to six months in jail.
The ramped up education and enforcement between Oceanside and San Diego is planned in advance of new, much-quieter locomotives beginning service Feb. 8.
