The City Council has issued a letter to Sheriff William Gore acknowledging recent civil unrest and protests around San Diego County and the nation following incidents between law enforcement and the African American community.

The Council’s statement repudiates all forms of discrimination and calls for change to root out systemic racism to ensure equal justice is provided to all races under the law.
Signed by all City Council members, the letter urges the Sheriff to implement the necessary reforms to ensure law enforcement will protect and serve all Americans.
