Currently, the commission is tracking the City’s Housing Element Update ahead of reviewing environmental documents and preparing a formal recommendation to the City Council.
In other business, the Planning Commission holds public hearings and acts upon applications for subdivisions, floodplain development permits, conditional use permits and variances. On occasion, the Commission makes formal interpretations of the zoning ordinance and determinations of allowable uses.
As an advisory body to the City Council, the commission reviews and makes recommendations on specific plans, zoning code amendments, local coastal program amendments, and community plan amendments.
The Planning Commission meets at 6 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month.
