Graduations For TPHS, CCA on Friday Will Lead To Tight Traffic
Torrey Pines HS and Canyon Crest Academy both have graduations on Friday, June 15th. Traffic through Carme Valley will be tight.
Graduations for seniors through Carmel Valley: which also lead to traffic congestion
Local traffic jams will be persistent through the entire day. Del Mar Heights Road will be jammed from the I-5 to the end of the road on the South/East side. If you are a guest attending either graduation, it is advised that you carpool or rideshare as parking at both schools will be limited.
Surrounding streets will also be jammed and filled with cars. Del Mar Heights Road will be filled with released parents/guests at 2:30 (CCA) and 6:00 (TP).
Class at TPHS is released at 11:55 AM. CCA is released at 12:51 PM. Students will exit school at those times and nearby shopping centers, the Del Mar Highlands and Pacific Highlands Ranch will be heavily populated with students. Also students will be walking home, and students who can drive will be driving out of the schools and that may add to congestion.
