Homeowner Opens Fire on Intruder Near University City
The resident grabbed his gun and fired a couple shots, but apparently missed the suspect.

SAN DIEGO, CA - A homeowner opened fire on an intruder during a break-in early Monday at his University City-area home, but the suspect escaped unharmed.
A man who lives in the 4400 block of Via Pasear awoke shortly before 4 a.m. to his dog barking, then spotted the suspect in his hallway. The burglar had likely entered the home through an attached garage, San Diego police Officer Billy Hernandez said.
The resident grabbed his gun and fired a couple shots, but apparently missed the suspect, Hernandez said.

The homeowner told investigators a nail gun had been taken during the break-in.
A description of the suspect was not immediately available.
