LEGALLY BLONDE: THE MUSICAL AT CARMEL VALLEY MIDDLE SCHOOL

Carmel Valley Middle School (“CVMS”) is proud to announce that their stage production of “Legally Blonde: The Musical” will open this Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the CVMS Performing Arts Center. The show will run May 6, 7, 8, 9, 14 and 15. All performances start at 7:00 p.m. Advance purchase tickets are available for $8.00 at the CVMS Financial Office and will also be available at the door for $10.00 on the night of each performance.

This smart and energetic Broadway musical is based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the popular 2001 film starring Reese Witherspoon. Directed by Katrina Peterson, CVMS’s production features two dozen of the middle school’s most talented 7th and 8th grade performers. The cast includes Eevie Perez as Elle, Alex Marzinotto as Warner, John Blackstone as Emmett, Gaby Jentzch as Paulette, Lexie Maltzman as Vivienne, Grant Ritchie as Callahan, and, of course, real dogs playing Bruiser and Rufus!

The musical production tells the story of Elle, a seemingly shallow California girl, dumped by her boyfriend, who sets out to successfully pursue a Harvard law degree. Elle refuses to take “no” for an answer, and with a little luck and a lot of snap, proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style. The message is empowering and the talented CVMS performers truly bring this Tony-nominated musical to life. A great evening of musical entertainment is guaranteed to please audiences of all ages.
