Legally Required Sexual Harassment Prevention Training - San Diego

Mandatory harassment avoidance training to supervisors.

Harassment training for supervisors has always been a good idea; now it’s required by law. On November 19, Fisher & Phillips LLP is offering a dynamic workshop at the Embassy Suites San Diego La Jolla to provide this mandatory harassment avoidance training to supervisors. The training will be interactive and practical, teaching supervisors essential management skills while discussing the legally required harassment related topics.

AB 1825 (Now Government Code Section 12950.1) requires that all California employers with 50 or more employees provide at least two hours of harassment avoidance training to all supervisors once every two years. Moreover, new supervisors or newly promoted supervisors must receive the required training within six months of hire or promotion. This training is mandatory for any supervisor who hires, fires, disciplines, and/or directs the work of one or more other employees.

In addition to the harassment avoidance training, Fisher & Phillips is offering an additional “Train the Trainer” session, designed for human resources professionals who are experienced in the area of sexual harassment training and investigations. Participants of the Train the Trainer are required to attend the initial training session from 8:30-10:30 a.m., which will be followed by the Train the Trainer portion from 10:45 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
