Motorist Dies After Being Struck by Car

A motorist died Wednesday after he was struck by a Volvo on El Camino Real, according to police.

The motorist, who was driving with his wife, apparently ran a red light while driving eastbound on Half Mile Drive around 4:31 p.m. He was struck by the car that was heading southbound on El Camino Real, according to police. 

He sustained serious head trauma and was transported to a local trauma center but was later pronounced dead, according to police.

Authorities are investigating the accident.
