Power Outage Prompts SIG Alert Near Del Mar Heights

DEL MAR HEIGHTS, CA – A power outage has prompted a SIG Alert Friday in the area of Del Mar Heights.

Several street lights are out around Del Mar Heights Road and El Camino Real due to a power outage, according to the San Diego Police Department. Drivers should expect delays.

Hundreds of people in the area are without power amid a heat wave. San Diego Gas & Electric reported on its outage map that 740 customers have no power in the communities of North City West, Torrey Pines and Fairbanks Country Club.

The outage started at 9:03 a.m. SDG&E estimates the power will be restored by about 4 p.m.

Underground equipment has been damaged, according to the utility company.
