Preliminary Hearing Set for Rocker Accused of Murder-for-Hire of Wife
As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis is charged in the murder-for-hire plot to kill his wife.

On Wednesday, a preliminary hearing was set for a local musician who allegedly tried to hire a hit man to murder his estranged wife. The hearing for Grammy-nominated Christian medal band As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis was set for Sept. 7 in Vista.
The San Diego Sheriff’s Department arrested Lambesis, who reportedly sometimes lives with his parents in Del Mar, in Oceanside on May 7.
Lambesis, alum of Santa Fe Christian High School, was just about to join a summer tour with the band when San Diego County sheriff’s deputies arrested him, according to NBC San Diego.

Lambesis entered a not guilty plea to the same month.
The local news station reported that prosecutors claimed Lambesis provided a undercover agent with $1,000 for expenses, his wife’s address and gate codes, pictures of her and specific dates when he would have the children.

Lambesis and his wife split last summer when the singer told Meggan in an e-mail that he no longer loved her or believed in God. She later learned that Lambesis was making regular visits to a girlfriend in Florida and had had other affairs.

The U-T San Diego reported that Lambesis was released from jail after posting a $2 million bond on May 30.
