The first deputy arrived on scene prior to the fire department and confirmed the structure was fully engulfed in flames. The deputy began breaking windows to locate and contact any occupants. The deputy noticed a body lying in a bedroom but was unable to make entry due to smoke and flames. Dialogue was attempted with the victim, but the deputy received no response. Seconds later, the victim's body was overcome by flames. The Poway Fire Department arrived shortly thereafter and extinguished the fire.
