The Medical Examiner's Office conducted the autopsies today and has identified the two victims of Saturday night's shooting as fifty-five-year-old Raquel Pitsenberger and her son, thirty-five-year-old Marco Antonio Valadez Jr., who also goes by "Tony." Both are residents of the city of San Diego. Their family has been notified of their deaths.

The preliminary cause of death for Raquel was multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death is homicide. The preliminary cause of death for Marco was also multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death is homicide.
Sheriff's Homicide detectives continued their investigation and can confirm the victims knew the suspect. Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, further details are being withheld. There is no ongoing threat to the community.
