Two-Car I-5 Crash Near Del Mar Sends 1 to Hospital

A two-car crash on northbound Interstate 5 near Del Mar sent a person to a hospital Sunday, authorities said.

A silver BMW and a silver Infiniti sedan collided in the freeway's northbound lanes near the Via De La Valle off-ramp about 1:45 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Those involved the crash were spotted outside their vehicles on the roadside following the crash, the CHP reported.

One person injured in the crash was taken to a hospital, a San Diego Fire-Rescue Department dispatcher said.

A tow truck was called to the scene, according to the CHP.
