This event is an informal introduction to wildlife tracking for those interested in conducting future wildlife surveys within the River Park as part of the San Dieguito Citizen Science Monitoring Program.
The lesson, which accepts all experience levels, will take place at the San Dieguito River Park office, 18372 Sycamore Creek Rd. Escondido, CA 92025.

A knowledgeable SDTT instructor will give informal lessons in the art of wildlife tracking, including an hour of instruction on tracking terminology and tracking reference formulas, and an hour in the “dirt” looking at real tracks. Participants will learn how to identify the tracks and scat of coyotes, bobcats, raccoons, deer, and other wildlife in the area.
This is a great opportunity to learn more about SDTT and start on the path to monitoring wildlife within the River Park. Citizen scientists wishing to participate in future wildlife surveys will need to attend a Free SDTT Wildlife Survey Volunteer Training. The next training is scheduled for Saturday, October 11, 2014. For more information on the volunteer training, contact SDTT at info@sdtt.org.
