Woman, 2 Teens Injured In Crash Off El Camino Real

Firefighters extricated one trapped victim, a female, 25, from her car after the head-on North County wreck, officials said.

NORTH COUNTY, CA – Firefighters pulled a woman out of a car in which she was trapped following a head-on crash that also injured two others on a North County road Sunday morning, according to authorities.

The crash was first reported at 10:04 a.m., on El Camino Real between San Dieguito Road and Sea Country Lane, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. The area is near the San Dieguito River and just west of Del Mar.

A 17-year-old boy was driving north on the road "at a high rate of speed" and struck a car being driven in the opposite direction by a 25-year- old woman, according to San Diego Police Officer Sarah Foster.

Firefighters were eventually able to get the woman out, and paramedics took the person to a hospital, where she was being treated for a fractured pelvis, Foster said.
