Woman Killed by Train in Del Mar

A passenger train struck and killed a woman early today as she lay across the tracks on the outskirts of Seagrove Park, authorities reported.

Despite the blaring of the train’s horn, the unidentified woman remained on the rails as the southbound Coaster locomotive bore down on her near the intersection of Coast Boulevard and 15th Street in Del Mar shortly after 5:30 a.m., according to sheriff’s officials.
