Impressively, every dish tried here was delicious and executed with care. Jerry himself was in the kitchen to tend carefully to his signature meals. The attention to detail showed.

Our starter dish of sautéed bok choy was simple but unique. With a hint of ginger on tender bok choy, this vegetable dish stood out as an excellent meld of simple ingredients.

Among the wide array of noodle dishes, both the chicken noodle soup and vegetarian chow mein were delectable. The chow mein in particular was notable for its ability to be both fresh and savory at once, not at all greasy or overly spiced as other chow mein's may commonly be. The dish was a delicious rendition of a unique Taiwanese specialty.

Another notable spin on a favorite dish was the vegetarian fried rice, lightly fried with hints of ginger and garlic and topped with a variety of colorful vegetables.

These class dishes and others offer a look into the culinary world of Taiwanese home-style cooking.

When asked about his favorite dish, Jerry simply replies, "all of them," and after tasting the menu, we'd have to agree: 101 Café offers an enormous amount of choice and innovation for fresh, home-style Taiwanese cooking, all in an environment suitable to creativity.
