2-Acre Blaze In Diamond Bar Triggered By 57 Freeway Car Fire

With the help of two Super Scooper water-dropping planes, crews quickly contained a fast moving brush fire near the 57 Freeway: BREAKING.

DIAMOND BAR, CA — A vehicle fire on the side of the Orange (57) Freeway in Diamond Bar spread to nearby shrubs triggering a fast-moving brush fire Tuesday afternoon.

Los Angeles County fire fighters sued two Super Scooper water-dropping planes for the first time this year in Los Angeles County to stop the brush fire's forward movement. According to Los Angeles County Fire Department Inspector Joey Marron, the fire began shortly after 4 p.m. on the northbound side of the freeway near Pathfinder Road before spreading to nearby vegetation.

Crews quickly got the upper hand on the blaze. By 4:52 p.m. the fire's forward progress was halted, with about three acres burned, Marron said. No injuries or threats to structures were reported.
