Biological Father Returned Missing Walnut Foster Child, Police Say

The child ran away to spend the night with his biological father, police said.

WALNUT, CA —A scare, Thursday, when a Walnut foster family reported an 11-year-old in boy missing. That child was returned to Department Children and Family Services in Glendora one day later.

An 11-year-old Azusa boy in foster care who ran away from the Walnut/Pomona area spent the night with his biological father, who returned him to the DCFS office in Glendora, police said.

The boy last had been seen around 6 p.m. Thursday in front of an apartment complex at 3700 block of W. Valley Blvd. riding his scooter, the Pomona Police Department reported.

Police circulated his photo and sought public help to find him.

The boy's father was unable to contact DCFS and decided to take him to the nearest department office in the morning, police said.

"The child was in good health, not injured and had not been the victim of an abduction or any crime," according to a police statement. "The child was returned to the custody of DCFS for placement."
