2012 Annual Pomona Masonic Lodge Awards Dinner

Every year the Pomona Masonic Lodge awards outstanding students, teachers and families.

Tuesday, May 1st was the Pomona Masonic Lodge's Annual Award's Dinner for children, families and staff of the Pomona Unified School District.  Lorbeer Middle School's own Leslie Hefler was our teacher winner for her ongoing efforts with the Reading Challenge and Spelling Bee, designed to enhance student's learning.  Alcott Elementary's parent / staff, Maria Gomez, Park West High School students Breanna Hernandez and Christopher Flores, and Family Resource Center's Escobar family (mom Janine and daughters Frida and Sophia) and Mr/Mrs. Rodolpho and Maria Zarate were also recognized for their outstanding efforts.  The Master of the Lodge, Ken Szalonek and Senior Warden, Javier Torres-Plascencia were joined by representatives from Assemblywoman Norma Torres' office, Senator Gloria Negrete McLeod's office, Diamond Bar's own Andrew Wong, Frank Guzman and the entire PUSD School Board as well as Pomona Mayor Elliot Rothman in awarding the students.  The Pomona Masonic Lodge is dedicated to children's growth and is honored to be part of enhancing our local school children's academics.
