I just wanted to share a experience I had today at this local business. Sky Blue Pools as many know has been in Diamond Bar for years. It use to be located in the Big Lots Center until around two years ago when it moved over by what use to be Sizzler. I have been a customer of Sky Blue for some time. Buying Chlorine tablets, pool candles and odd and end pool toys for my kids. I have a 9 year old non verbal Autistic daughter. She loves the pool and has had the same infant type Intex inflatable pool floater from Sky Blue pools for nearly 4 years now. Last night the floater suddenly began to leak air and deflated. My daughter was so upset because floating around in her floatie was one of her favorite things to do. She is unable to swim and it is hard for me to hold her for hours in the pool as I have congestive heart failure. I was so worried what to do. I knew I had to find a floatie ASAP . Having Autism my daughter has very few activities that she can just do like every other kid. So this means so much to her. To be able to spend time in the pool with her three older brothers. The smile on her face says 10000 words that she can not say. So we went out on a hunt for the floatie she had been using. Which was just a generic type of intex toddler floatie. We tried Kmart with no luck. We tried the new Leslie Pools in the Vons center with no luck. Plus no one to help or understand why we would need a floatie for a nine year old child. Especially one that had support at the bottom. Finally we made our way over to Sky Blue pools. We were looking at the floaters in complete distress. The one our daughter had for many years was available no where! I didn't know what to do! I looked up and seen some small floating rings on display and asked the saleswoman if I could possibly bring my 9 year old Autistic Daughter in and let her try on a display ring to see if it were snug enough for her to safely play in the pool. At first she looked a bit unsure. Then my daughter walked in and I had a chance to explain my daughter is very tiny 31lbs at nine years old, she has severe autism and is non verbal. The woman pulled down the floater and let my daughter try it! It fit perfectly and my daughter Destiny was SO EXCITED her little face just lit up! At that instant the saleswoman knew exactly what we were looking for and why. As with anything the smile on Destiny's face explained in a 1000 words why the pool was so important to her. Suddenly this woman, my "angel" grabs a floating tube vest off the shelf and goes to the back and opens it. She brings it to me and says "try this on, I think it will be perfect" . She helped me get it on Destiny which can be a bit tricky since Destiny is developmentally delayed to that of a 2 year old child. So we get it on and Destiny is so excited and unsure at the same time! The sales woman's face lit up and said this is perfect! If not you can always bring it back! So we took it off Destiny and she bends down and scoops up little Destiny and carried her around the rest of the time! It brought tears to my eyes!! Not many people truly understand what it is like to have a Autistic child. She did. She understood my daughters needs and wanted to make sure she had exactly what she needed! I was so happy and relieved. Not many people in public take so well to a Autistic child. I was truly impressed! So we bought the floatation device in which they even gave us a 20% discount ! We got home, used the bike pump which was needed to fill the inner tube of the vest and put Destiny in the pool! Within seconds Destiny was swimming forward, backwards, spinning in circles, jumping and suddenly singing in her own little gibberish!! It brought us all to tears! This floatation vest is 100% better then what Destiny was using before! It is way smaller , abling Destiny to move around swim and play in the pool for the hours she enjoys!! I want to personally thank Sky Blue pools for being such a amazing local business! I want to also thank them for superior customer service! Most importantly thank you for making my little Autism Princess a happy little mermaid in her new floatation vest! I had to beg her to get out of the pool today!! Thank you a million times over!! Anyone looking for a pool supply store, come to Sky Blue first. Not only will you find what you are looking for. They have great prices and amazing customer service!! They Rock in our book!!
