Diamond Bar, Diamond Ranch Basketball Earn At-Large Berths into CIF Tournament
Diamond Ranch boys and girls teams earn first-round home games in their respective CIF division playoffs. Diamond Bar will be on the road for the first round of CIF playoffs.
Diamond Ranch High School’s girls basketball team was named the sixth seed in the CIF 3AA Division playoffs it was announced Sunday and as such, will begin the post-season at home.
Diamond Ranch, the No. 2 team from the Hacienda League, will play host to Beaumont on Thursday at 7 p.m. Beaumont was given an at-large playoff berth from the Mountain Pass League.
A victory would put Diamond Ranch up against Norwalk or 10th-seeded North Torrance in the second round on Saturday.

Diamond Bar’s girls team, which earned an at-large berth out of the Hacienda League, will open the 1A playoffs on the road against eighth-seeded Valencia High School of Valencia. A victory would most likely send the Brahmas up against ninth-seeded El Toro in the second round.
On the boy’s side, Diamond Ranch will begin the 3A playoffs at home against Calabasas, the division’s No. 8 seed, on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Panthers tied for third place in the Hacienda League.

A victory would move them into Friday’s second round against ninth-seeded Cerritos or South Torrance.
Diamond Bar’s boys, an at-large entry to the 1A playoffs from the Hacienda League, will travel to San Bernardino Cajon for a first round matchup Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Cajon, the No. 2 team from the San Andreas League, is the 12th-seeded team in the division. Should the Brahmas advance to the second round, they would most likely play host to fifth-seeded Redlands East Valley on Friday.
Quarterfinal and semifinal games for boys and girls will be held next week, with championship games in all divisions scheduled on March 2-5. Championships in most divisions will be held at the Anaheim Arena, with the only exceptions being the 5AA, 5A, 6AA and 6A games, which will be contested at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana.
