Diamond Bar HS Readies Surprise Teams in CIF Dual Meet Wrestling Championship

Despite not being seeded, the Brahmas have a legitimate shot at the Division 4 CIF Dual Meet title.

No, Diamond Bar was not seeded in the Division 4 CIF Dual Meet Wrestling Championship.

Still, the Hacienda League champions should open some eyes in the tournament and could be considered one of the stronger teams in the division, as the Brahmas prepare for the dual meet championship Saturday at Redlands East Valley High School.

The Brahmas will meet Granite Hills, an at-large team from the Desert Sky League, in the first round.

Weigh-ins begin at 9 a.m. with first-round matches starting at 11 a.m.

Channel League champion, Ventura is the No. 1 seed, followed by Redlands East Valley, Victor Valley and Quartz Hill.

West Covina, also from the Hacienda League, earned an at-large berth and will meet Garden Grove in the opening round.

Bishop Amat, the Mission League champion, meets Dos Pueblos, an at-large team from the Channel League.

The CIF Individual Wrestling tournament is Feb. 18-19.
