Looting Suspects Arrested In Swarthout Canyon

3 were suspected of for looting homes of Bluecut Fire evacuees.

DIAMOND BAR, CA—Three were arrested on suspicion of looting homes that were evacuated for the Bluecut Fire. San Bernardino Sheriff's Department resonded to a call on the 8600 block of Swarthout Canyon in an unincorporated area of San Bernardino this morning.

"At 7 a.m., deputies responded to a call of suspicious subjects at a home located in the evacuation area," San Bernardino County Sheriff John McMahon said in a statement.

Deputies arrived and made contact with the suspects who were attempting to leave the residence with a flatbed truck.

"The suspects told deputies they were picking up property for a friend who lived at the residence," McMahon reported. It was unclear if a crime had been committed.
