Diamond Ranch High On Alert Following Threat

Officials are investigating a threat scrawled on a bathroom wall.

POMONA, CA — A threat written on a bathroom wall at Diamond Ranch High School in Pomona has prompted extra security Wednesday, authorities said. The social media post depicting a "generalized threat" to the school, has authorities on alert, though no "credible threat" exists, officials say.

"The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department takes every single threat, comment and/or `rumor' seriously," said sheriff's Deputy Charles Moore. "Each incident will be investigated thoroughly by our station personnel.

Detectives investigated the possible threat, working with the school administration to help ensure the safety and security of students and staff, according to Moore.

"We have increased patrols in the area in order to maintain high visibility and presence. In addition, we have dedicated personnel that will remain on the Diamond Ranch High School campus for the duration of the school day," Moore explained further.

According to a Pomona Unified School District statement, "Officers assured us that they feel there is no credible danger to students or staff. We are adding more security at school as a precaution."
