Driver Thrown From Vehicle After Solo Crash in Pomona

Occupant received major injuries in the accident.

POMONA (CNS) - A 23-year-old driver thrown from a vehicle in a single-car wreck in Pomona was hospitalized today with what California Highway Patrol officers called major injuries.

Leo Lianos of Pomona was headed east on the San Bernardino (10) Freeway in the No. 3 lane when he lost control of the vehicle near Kellog Drive about 1 a.m., according to the CHP.

The car went off the road and hit a block wall, throwing Lianos out, according to the CHP, which said he was airlifted to County-USC Medical Center.
